Woman Dies From Accident Injuries

Mrs. O.M. Mendenhall, 56, died this morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Skiff Memorial hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident west of Newton Sunday afternoon, April 23.

No funeral arrangements have been made, pending the arrival of relatives.

Mrs. Mendenhall suffered a broken pelvic bone and other internal injuries when the car driven by her husband was turned over after having been sidewsiped by another automobile. The second machine was forced into the Mendenhall car by a tire blowout.

Mrs. Mendenhall was born in Jasper county, Ia. and lived here practically all of her life. The family formerly resided on a farm seven miles south of Newton, moving to this city about 12 years ago.

Surviving relatives include her husband; a daughter, Miss Ruth Mendenhall, teacher in the Dyke, Ia. school; a son, Earl Mendenhall of Galt, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. R.L. Miller of Newton and two brothers, James and Joe Parmley of the state of Oregon. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, May 3, 1933, page 1.
