Charles B. Dick Dies at Age 80; Rites Wednesday
Charles B. Dick, 80, Newton resident and former grocer at Killduff, died yesterday at a State Center hospital following a lingering illness.
Mr. Dick lived in Newton the last six years at 321 East Fourth Street South. He was retired. For 16 years he operated a grocery store at Killduff.
He was born at Liberty, Ill., on Oct. 25, 1871 to Jesse and Mary Dick. He married Rose Anna Terpstra at Sully on Oct 10, 1907.
Survivors are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Chamberlain; one son, Roscoe B. Dick, and two grandchildren, all of Newton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 at Morgan Funeral with burial in Hewitt Cemetery. Rev. E.G. Dill, pastor of the Killduff Methodist Church to which Mr. Dick belonged will officiate.
