Mrs. Lust Dies, Jasper Pioneer, Rites at Reasnor
Reasnor – Mrs. Nancy Lust, resident of the Reasnor neighborhood for more than 80 years died Wednesday at her home here at the age of 85.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Reasnor Methodist Church with Rev. R. E. McClellan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Monroe. Johnson Murdock Funeral Home of Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lust was born March 25, 1866 to Abraham and Mary Rexroat at Hancock, Ill. The family moved to Pella shortly after her birth and to Reasnor when she was one year old.
On Oct. 20, 1887, she was married to George W. Lust and the couple farmed in the Reasnor vicinity until retirement about 1930. For three years she lived in Ord, Neb.
Mrs. Lust was a member of the Reasnor Methodist Church, a charter member of the W.S.C.S. of the church and belonged to the Daily News Three-Quarter Century Club.
Survivors are 5 daughters, Mrs. Joe (Blanche) Deedrick of Newton, Miss Mabel Lust of Reasnor, Mrs. Dick (Vida) Van Baren of Cupertino, Calif., Mrs. Lettie Lewis who is a missionary in Liberia, Africa, and Mrs. Herman (Opal) Nollen of Pella; two sons, Lawrence of Phoenix, Ariz., and Leland of Newton.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Pearl McKee of Newton, Mrs. Kate Noon of Monroe, Mrs. Myrtle Canfield of Des Moines, and one brother, Merrill Rexroat of Millerton.
Mrs. Lust was preceded in death by her husband and two sons who died in infancy. She was the oldest of 10 children.
