Mrs. J. H. Lewis Dies Tuesday Evening
Mrs. J. H. Lewis, 79 years of age, passed away Tuesday evening at 10:30 at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines. Mrs. Lewis had been in the hospital for the past four weeks suffering from erysipeaas.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her five children: Charles of Monroe, Mrs. W. E. Langerak, Mrs. Carl John and Mrs. Georgia Elwood of Des Moines, Mrs. A. H. Nye of Newton. Fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Lewis preceded her in death 9 years ago.
Deceased was a sister of Joe Brassfield of Monroe.
Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Walters’ Funeral Home in Prairie City.
Interment was made in the Monroe cemetery. The pall bearers were Robt. Roush, John Dibel, Clyde Fouoch, Rob’t. Birkenholz and two from Prairie City.
