Obituary for Nell (McCurnin) Kane

Mrs. William (Nell) Kane, 91, of 217 West 10th St. South, a resident of Jasper county for more than 80 years, died at 5:45 pm Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Pink.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic church. Father Edward Susic of the Sacred Heart Catholic church will conduct the services. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8pm Tuesday at the Johnson funeral home.
Mrs. Kane is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Pink of Newton; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Kathryn McEnroe of Newark, N.J.; Mrs. Jennie Bridie of Colfax and Mrs. Anna Pulley of Zearing; and a brother, James McCurnin of Palmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Pulley: a grandson Clifford Pink; four sisters and three brothers.
The daughter of John and Ann McCurnin, she was born March 15, 1870 in Jersey City, N.J.
She resided in Jersey City until the age of nine when she came to Jasper county. She was married to William Kane January 4, 1894. Mrs. Kane was a housekeeper for different fathers of the Davenport Diocese for many years.
