HINSDALE, MORGAN

This morning at 5:30 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hinsdale, in this city, Charley Hinsdale terminated a month’s struggle for life and passed into the beyond, beloved and deeply mourned by all. Human aid was powerless to arrest the progress of the insidious disease, and though all through his illness his friends and the loved ones of the home hoped for the best, there has been great fear entertained by all those who knew the case. All the medical skill and attention and loving, tender care could do was done, ‘twas of no avail, the end came and life’s fitful fever was o’er.

Charley would have been twenty-two years old September 24th. He was born in the house where he died, and which has always been his home. His school life was pent entirely in Newton, graduating from the high school in this year’s class, of which he was one of the most active members, always ready for his part, was it class or social work. Personally he was gentle, straightforward and lovable, endeared by good qualities to all who have known him well all his life. And now, though sorrowing friends will come with words of comfort, sympathy and consolation, the grief stricken parents, sister, and other loved ones so closely connected with his home life, will feel most deeply the loss of one so dear to them. Especially will this be so with the mother with whom Charley has always been so companionable, and into whose heart and home life he formed, and has been such a great part.

The members of this sorrowing family, beside the father and mother are his sister, Mrs. Ves Morgan of this city, and a brother, Henry, of St. Anthony, Idaho.

Announcement of the funeral will be made tomorrow. ~ The Newton Daily News, Monday, September 4, 1905, Page 1, Column 3
