Funeral services for Irene Fleming Harvey, 94, of Nelson Manor Nursing Home, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Frederick Kramer, Skiff Medical Center chaplain, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Nelson Manor activity fund will be accepted.
Mrs. Harvey died of complications of Alzheimer’s Disease Tuesday morning at the nursing home.
Survivors are a son-in-law, Wayne Wendel of Newton; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Harvey of Newton.
Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert, Jan. 30, 1974, a daughter, Marilou Wendel, April 17, 1978, a son, Robert Jr., and a brother, Sam Fleming.
She was a homemaker.
The daughter of George and Myrtle Sprague Fleming, she was born Jan. 1, 1901 at Newton and was a graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to Robert Lyle Harvey June 25, 1919 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 9, 1995.
