Hallie Callison, Former Resident, Dies in Des Moines

Hallie Callison, 71, died Wednesday at his home in Des Moines following a heart attack. He had been in his usual good health and been at his work with an insurance firm Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove cemetery.

Mr. Callison, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Claiborn Callison was born April 28, 1877, in Metz. He had lived in Jasper county until moving to Des Moines about 40 years ago.

He was united in marriage to Edna Phelps also of Jasper county, who preceded him in death. He was later remarried and is survived by his widow, Louise, one daughter Mrs. Melvin Mohler and a grandson, Michael Mohler of Gary, Ind., also, a brother, Otto Callison of Newton, and a sister, Mrs. William Walker of Morristown, Minn. ~ Newton Daily News, February 19, 1948.
