MORGAN

A beautiful life was removed from earth to the beyond, yesterday morning when about 8:00 o’clock Miss Delia Morgan closed her eyes on this life’s weary pain, at the home of her brother Mr. C. F. Morgan, in this city.

She had never had very good health, but the beginning of this last severe illness dated back to last August, since which time she has been a great sufferer. Some of the very best physicians were consulted and all that medical skill could do was done, and kind and unceasing care and attention from loved ones was given her, but nature’s will was law, and she could no longer remain in this world of suffering and sorrow. The end came peacefully and quietly at the last, for breathing shorter and shorter she at last was with us no more.

Miss Morgan was born in Evans, New York. When a small child her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Morgan, removed to Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, where she lived during her girlhood and womanhood, until about fourteen years ago, when with her father and sister Maggie she removed to this city where her only brother, C. F. Morgan, resided.

She was of a modest, retiring disposition, a true Christian, loving her home and the dear ones there, her first thought always for others, never for herself.

The funeral will be held at the home of her brother, Mr. C. F. Morgan, tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 o’clock. Services to be conducted by Rector John C. Black of the Episcopal Church of this city, and the remains will be laid to rest in the Newton Cemetery by the side of her father and mother. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Tuesday, March 28, 1905, Page 1, Column 6
