Mrs. Marion Grimes died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines Thursday 16, after almost a year’s illness during which time she was quite helpless. Mrs. Grimes at the time of her death was 80 years old. She had made her home with her son, Dr. Eli Grimes in Des Moines since leaving this city some years ago. The remains were brought to Newton this afternoon for interment and placed beside those of her husband, Elihu Grimes, who had died April 7, 1895. Mrs. Harry Christopher, a daughter, her son Dr. Eli Grimes, and a daughter-in-law Mrs. Jennie Grimes and Dr. McCarthy, all of Des Moines, accompanied the remains to this city. ~ The Newton Daily News, Saturday, February 18, 1905, Page 1, Column 5
