Hazel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Failor, died yesterday afternoon at four o’clock. She had been ill for some time with grip and tonsillitis, but not until Sunday, when there was a change for the worse, had her parents or attendants felt that her case was serious.

Little Hazel was born near Grinnell, Iowa, January 25, 1894, and was just eleven years and ten days old. All her school days had been spent in Newton. She was a bright, sweet, sunny disposition, and will be missed greatly not only by the loved ones of her home, but at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Failor, where she always stopped every night and morning going to and from school, and who have not but pleasant, beautiful memories of the dear little child.

The funeral will be held at the residence on Plum Street tomorrow afternoon at one o’clock. Rev. G. L. Smith will have charge of the services and the interment will be in the Newton Cemetery. ~ The Newton Daily News, Thursday, February 16, 1905, Page 1, Column 3
