Mrs. Ollie Vance Deakin died at her home at Lorimor, Iowa, of heart failure March 8, 1905. She was born in Mercer County, Ill., March 2, 1867. When two years of age her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Vance, removed to Jasper County, Iowa. At the age of fourteen she made a profession of faith in Christ, and became a member of the Presbyterian Church, living through the years that followed a beautiful, consistent Christian life. After removing to Lorimor, Iowa, Mrs. Deakin united with the Baptist Church and in the Sabbath school work.

Ollie married December 22, 1891 to Mr. Elmer T. Deakin. Their first home was in Des Moines, Iowa, where they resided seven years, leaving that city about four years ago they removed to Lorimor where they have since resided.

Besides the bereaved husband, there is a little daughter and son, Hazel aged eight and Herman six years of age, whose hearts and lives will have to miss the great mother live, that none other can give.

The body arrived in Newton last evening, and the funeral was held at the United Presbyterian Church today at 11:00 o’clock, Rev. E. F. Gillis officiating. The interment was at Wittemberg Cemetery about four miles northeast of this city, where two sisters and a brother lie buried, their deaths having occurred in 1878 only forty days apart. ~ The Newton Daily News, Friday, March 10, 1905, Page 1, Column 3
