Services are held for Maytag Retiree Donald L. Conner

Donald L. Conner of Lovilia, a Maytag retiree, died Nov. 29 at Des Moines General Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart condition. He was 60.

Services were held Saturday in Lovilia and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. He was the father of Dan, die cast.

First working for the company in September 1954 in automatic assembly Conner later worked in receiving before beginning continuous service in June 1958 when he again worked in receiving. In December 1958 he transferred to automatic assembly. He later worked in sheet metal, SW machining and automatic assembly before going to die cast in August 1960. Conner remained in that area until retirement in July 1984.

In addition to his wife, Phyllis, and son, survivors include two daughters: Cindy Welsh and Kimberly Stewart, both of Lovilia; a sister, Connie Darrah, Cedar Rapids, and three brothers: Clyde, Bussey; Gerald, Albia, and Ronnie, Lovilia. ~ The Maytag Bulletin, Newton, Iowa 7 Dec 1989.
