Dorothy Margaret Reed, age 94 of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Ambulance Service and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Richard and Jennie (Van Wyk) Klein, Dorothy was born on April 17 1922, in Marion County, Iowa. On December 7, 1940, she was united in marriage to Leland Reed. Dorothy worked at the Vernon Company in Newton for 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, going to auctions and cooking.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Donna McCorkle of Knoxville, Richard (Pam) Reed of Colfax, Tom Reed of Newton and Harold (Cheryl) Reed of Colfax; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Leland in 2003; two brothers, a sister and a grandchild. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 23 Oct 2016.
