Lynnville Items – The remains of Miss Stella Whitney, who died in Colorado, where she had been traveling with her mother in the vain pursuit of health, were brought to this city on Saturday for burial. The funeral took place from the M. E. church on New Year’s day. Rev. Boyd, assisted by Rev. Potter and Rev. Brown, conducted the services. Miss Whitney was born and reared to womanhood in Lynnville, where she had many friends. She requested to be brought here for burial, and made all the arrangements for the funeral. The following pall bearers were chosen from among her gentlemen friends: Everet Swan, Billie Hews, Walter Macy, Will Allee, Milo Gause and Chas. Wildman. Her S.S. class, consisting of Misses Oda Roberts, Vinnie White, Alma Shahan, Mabel Dryden, Grace English, and Mrs. Dora Sylvester acted as honorary pall bearers. She had been a patient sufferer for nearly two years, and yielded up her life at the age of twenty-one years, ten months and four days. Her remains were laid to rest in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
