Mary Dykstra Dies Friday; Rites Sunday

MONROE - Funeral services for Mary. C. Dykstra, 74, a lifelong resident of the Monroe community, were held Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorial contributions to United Methodist Church in Monroe will be accepted.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe handled arrangements.

She died Friday morning at the Skiff memorial Hospital in Newton.

Survivors are two sons, Laurel and Herbert, both of monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Wood of Monroe; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Dykstra was a member of Monroe Untied Methodist Church and the Martha and Mary's Sunday School Class.

The daughter of William and Martha Biggley Crane, she was born June 6, 1904 in Jasper County. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 2 April 1979.
