Faye Clark Rites Held June 15

Funeral services for Faye Hall Clark, 88, a longtime resident of the Colfax area and a former Great Pocahontas of Iowa, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Howard Street Christian Church.

The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton.

The organist was Ella Mae Baird, and the soloist was Walter Williams.

Casket bearers were grandsons, David Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Kevin fields, Lonnie Fields, Timothy Clark, and Danny Clark.

Honorary casket bearers were grandsons, James Clark, Jr., William Clark, Jr., Larry Fields, Richard Clark, Ronald Wagner, and Jerry Hall.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax handled arrangements.

Memorials to the Howard Street Christian Church will be accepted.

Mr. Clark died Tuesday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Survivors are two sons, James of Logan and William of Newton; three daughters, Dorothy Wagner and Delores Fields, both of Colfax; and Carolyn Sproul of Missouri Valley; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Loren, in 1979, infant daughter, and a son, Loren, Jr.

She worked as a cashier at Easter's Grocery Store in Colfax for many years.

She was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church and the Pocahontas Lodge.

The daughter of George B. and Elsie Maye Godfrey Hall, she was born Feb. 25, 1903 in Marion County.

She was married to Loren Clark Sr. Aug. 21, 1920, in Knoxville. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 20 June 1991.
