Services Held June 8

Funeral services for H. Robert Sherratt, 68, of 320 E. 23rd St. N., Newton, and Brainerd, Minn., were held Monday, June 8, at the Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Jerry Brown, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.

He died Thursday evening at Abbot North West Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., of an aneurysm.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Glen and Thomas, both of Newton; a daughter, Susan Yoder of Newton; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Betty Synhorst of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Sherratt, a member of the First United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge 1270 of Newton, was an employee of the Parsons Co. for 36 years, serving as district sales manager. Following his retirement, he was employed at the Koehring Co. until his retirement.

The son of Lee and Helen West Sherratt, he was born Feb. 28, 1924 in Colfax and was graduated from Colfax Community High School in 1942.

He was married to Dorothy Van Arkel May 27, 1944 in Killduff. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 11 June 1992.
