Had His Neck Broken
A sad and fatal accident occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Worth, living about three miles southwest of Monroe, last Wednesday morning. Mr. W. had hitched up a team in front of the barn, leaving an eight-year-old son in the wagon. Thinking of something he needed in the barn, he wrapped the lines around the knob on the front end of the wagon, and went into the barn. The horses started off at a slow walk, and ran the wheels over a cob pile, and the lines becoming twisted drew the horses to one side, and upset the wagon. The boy’s head was caught between the cramped wheels and his neck broken, and died almost immediately. It was a sad case.
