Death of Stephen Morris.
Stephen Morris, living about two miles north of Rushville, Mariposa township, died very suddenly at his residence, last Saturday evening. He is an old resident having lived in the county about forty-five years, - enlisted in Co. K and was transferred to Co. I 10th, and a man who deserved the many friends he had made. He was born in Guernsey County, Ohio, and was married to Charlotte Wilson, daughter of the late Robert Wilson. To them were born six children: Mrs. Robert Pennington, of Beersford, S.D.; Mrs. Wm. Altemeier, Robert, Edith, Harvey and Payton, all of this county. He was an active member of the M.E. church, at Rushville. He and his wife had arranged to celebrate their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary, to be held Monday evening, and invitations were out for many friends and acquaintances.
The funeral was held from his late residence this morning at 10 a.m., and he was buried in the cemetery at Rushville.
