Services Thursday; Dies on Monday

KELLOGG - Funeral services for Cecil R. Jeffreys, 73, of Kellogg, a resident of Kellogg since 1930 and a former resident of Newton, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Reese Chapel in Newton.

The Rev. Carl Klein, pastor of the Kellogg United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Kellogg United Methodist Church will be accepted.

Survivors are his wife, Mary; two sons, Russell of Kansas City, Mo., and Floyd J. of Monroe, La.; three daughters, Mrs. John (Charlene) Pickles of Litchfield Park, Ariz., Mrs. Warren (Ruth) Jafvert of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Hughes of Naperville, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Eula) Stump of Greenville, Mo,; and two brothers, Howard and George, both of Greenfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, a granddaughter, Sondy, and a sister.

Mr. Jeffreys was a member of the Kellogg United Methodist Church.

Mr. Jeffreys, who had served on the Kellogg Fire Department for a number of years, was employed at Midwest Manufacturing Co. in Kellogg until retiring in 1971.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Jeffreys, he was born Feb. 5. 1906 in Greenfield, Mo.

He was married to Mary Frizzell Sept 22, 1928 at the Little Brown church in Nashua.

He died Monday afternoon at the University Hospitals in Iowa City. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 12 Dec 1979.
