Former Jasper County Man Dies In Calif.
William E. Wert, 76-year-old former Jasper County resident, died at his home in San Francisco, Cal., a week ago today.
He was born in Newton, Feb. 6, 1868, the son of William B. and Phoebe Wert. At an early age he moved to Kellogg with his parents, where he attended school and graduated. He taught school a year here before moving to California.
He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving relatives include his sister, Mrs. Arthur Eaton, who lives here in Newton.
Graveside rites will be held at Our Silent City cemetery in Kellogg, Monday at ___ o’clock. (paper torn)
