John Minor

MITCHELLVILLE - John Minor, 75, of Mitchellville, a former resident of Prairie City, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

The Rev. Hugh Stone, pastor of the Mitchellville United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Survivors are two sons, John J. of Mitchellville and Charles of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a daughter, Patricia Minor of Mitchellville; and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother and a sister.

Mr. Minor, a World war II Veteran, had been a maintenance employee at the Mitchellville Training School.

The son of Charles and Lucy Thomasson Minor, he was born Dec. 22, 1908 in Prairie City.

He was married to Hazel Ridgeway April 30, 1940 in Des Moines. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 24 Oct 1984.
