Fred Krampe, Sr., died Tuesday night at 11:30, January 31, 1911 of cancer of the stomach. He was born in Germany July 24, 1834, reached an age of seventy-six years, six months and seven days. He came to America in 1851. Deceased leaves as immediate relatives his four children: Fred, Gustav, Matilda and Edward – the two first residing on their farms east of Baxter; Matilda, the daughter at home, and Edward, an employee as a railway postal clerk, on the Oelwein & Kansas City railway postoffice – New Era, Feb. 9.
