Life Story of Thelma Woody
Funeral services for Mrs. Mark (Thelma Loraine) Woody, 60, longtime resident of the Monroe community, was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Tools Chapel Church.
The Rev. Warren McFate pastor of the church officiated. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are her husband, two sons, John E. of Reasnor and Dean M. of R.R. 2, Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Sheeler of Monroe; seven grandchildren and her mother, Mrs. Ernest (Rosa) Caulkins of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Earl, and a grandchild in 1953.
Mrs. Woody was a member of the United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Women’s Society of Christian Services a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Slayden Post No. 363, and the Merry Makers Neighborhood Club.
The daughter of Ernest Lutheran and Rosa Lohmer Caulkins, she was born February 5, 1910, at Des Moines.
She was married to Mark Woody in February 1928.
Mrs. Woody died Dec. 1 at Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville.
