John Woody Rites Monday
John M. Woody, son of W. H. and J. E. Woody was born Jan. 2, 1866 in Marion County near Monroe and passed away at the University Hospital, June 3, 1939 at the age of 73 years, five months and one day.
He had been in failing health for several years and the last six months he had been in the hospital most of the time.
Mr. Woody was united in marriage to Anna L. Beyers Jan. 1, 1890 and to this union were born four children, Mrs. Olive Marshall of Monroe, Amor L. who passed away July 23, 1934, Percy H. of St. Louis, Mo., and Mark M. of Monroe.
Mrs. Woody passed away on May 5th, 1936.
Mr. Woody was converted at Tools Chapel in 1902. He was a kind father and good neighbor and will be missed by all, especially in the home, where his greatest joy was his grandchildren.
He leaves to mourn his passing his three children, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Phena Misner of Monroe and Mrs. Rena Misner of Ridgeway Mo., besides other relatives and friends.
