Life Story of Mrs. Ruth Wood
Funeral services for Mrs. Mozelle (Ruth) Wood, 61 of rural Newton, were held Saturday afternoon at Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Edwin Frohardt, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, two stepsons, Donald Wood and Daryl Wood of Monroe, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Wayne (Dixie) Russell of Newton, a granddaughter Linda Bowie of California, and 10 step grandchildren, and three brothers, Lester Shaffer of Mingo, Loraine Shaffer of Newton and Donald Shaffer of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mrs. Mavis Jean Bowie.
The daughter of Bernard and Goldie Gunsaulus Shaffer, she was born March 1, 1909 near Newton.
Mrs. Wood died Wednesday morning at the Jasper County Home.
