Life Story of Mrs. James Wolcott
Mrs. James F. (Mary) Wolcott, a longtime resident of Monroe, died Monday, July 13, at her home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16 at the Monroe Methodist church. The Rev. James Poulsen, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Mrs. June LeGrand was organist.
Pallbearers were Bert Spoelstra, Marvin Garland, D. B. Carter, Gysbert Van Houwelingen, Harold Bowie and Ted Reetz. Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
Mrs. Wolcott, daughter of Harrison and Clara Lackey, was born near Monroe June 15, 1881.
She was united in marriage to James F. Wolcott April 9, 1903. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. H. W. (Louise) Cash, Mrs. C. J. (Miriam) Huigen and Wilma.
Preceding her in death were her husband, father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. E. E. Whitted and Mrs. Allen Huddleston, two brothers, Dan and Walter and her daughter Wilma.
She was a member of the Monroe Methodist church, WSCS and had been a teacher in the Jasper county schools.
She leaves to mourn her death Mrs. Cash and Mrs. Huigen, two grandsons, Donald Cash and Douglas Huigen, and four great granddaughters, Theresa, Mary Kathryn, Julienne and Colleen Huigen of Helena, Mont.
