Services Held
Funeral services for Harold Wittmer, 91, were held Friday morning, July 8, 1988, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral home in Monroe. The Revs. Roger and Gretchen Graf, pastors of the Monroe United Presbyterian Church conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Harold Wittmer died Tuesday, July 6, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are three daughters, Perquilla Callaghan of San Francisco, Calif., Betty (Mrs. Orion) Culver of Poulsbo, Wash., and Berta (Mrs. Phil) Van Ekeren of Monroe, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and three brothers.
The son of William and May Mosby Wittmer, he was born Oct. 17, 1896 in Monroe.
He was married to Bertha Merritt Feb. 25, 1922 in Centerville.
