Life Story of J. A. (Tony) Willemsen
J. A. (Tony) Willemsen, a longtime resident of Monroe, 73, died Saturday at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Burial was in Hewitt Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Christina; a son, John of Reasnor; a granddaughter, Ann Marie; and four brothers of The Netherlands.
He was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.
Mr. Willemsen, who came to the United States in 1917 from The Netherlands, had resided in Marion and Jasper Counties.
He was born December 21, 1897, in The Netherlands.
He was married to Christina Vande Voort February 6, 1923 at Galesburg.
