Life Story of Dora Willemsen
Mrs. John (Dora) Willemsen, 81, of the Pleasant Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, a former resident of the Monroe and Sully communities, died Wednesday morning at the Home.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Third Reformed Church in Pella.
The Rev. Kenneth A. Dykstra, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Survivors are her husband, John; a son, Henry G. of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Marjorie) Van Wyk of Pella; three grandsons, four great grandsons, three great granddaughters; a brother and a sister.
Mrs. Willemsen, a member of the Third Reformed Church in Pella, resided on a farm south of Sully until moving into Pella in 1954. Mrs. Willemsen had resided in the Fairhaven in Pella for a number of years before moving to Oskaloosa a few months ago.
The daughter of Gerrit and Mary Rozenberg Klein, she was born April 27, 1896, south of Taintor and was raised in the Monroe community.
She was married Jan. 15, 1919 in Monroe.
