Services Held
Funeral services for D. D. “Don” Wickliff, 79, of Newton were held Tuesday, July 19, 1988, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
Rev. David Presher, pastor of the Community Heights Alliance Church, conducted services. Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.
He died Friday at the Skiff Medical Center.
Survivors are his wife, Mary; five sons, Don Jr., Harold and Bill all of Newton, David of Pleasanton, Calif., and Jim of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Betty (Mrs. Donnie) Waddle and Mary Lou DeHaai, both of Monroe, and Jane (Mrs. Bob) Mouchka and Judy (Mrs. Terry) Bradley, both of Newton; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Irene White of Newton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters, a grandchild and a great grandchild.
The son of General Marion and Nancy Maude White Wickliff, he was born Jan. 5, 1909 in Marion County.
He was married to Mary Mae Garrett April 18, 1928 in Newton.
