Services Held
Lloyd N. White died Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
Private graveside services for him were held Friday, October 2, 2009. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Memorials in Lloyd’s name are being designated to the Monroe Ambulance Services.
Lloyd Nathaniel White, 78, the son of Francis Eugene and Dora (Walters) White, was born August 8, 1931, in Monroe County, Iowa. He served his country during the Korean Conflict, with the US Army. On January 2, 1957, Lloyd was united in marriage with Imogene Mae (Jean) Weyers in Newton, Iowa. He was employed by the Schlotfeldt Auto Dealership in Newton for several years. In 1961, Lloyd and Jean began farming near Monroe. He devoted his life to his family and friends, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife Jean of rural Monroe; two daughters: Barbara (Randall) Clark of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Denise (Dennis) White-Staecker of Sully, Iowa; a sister Edna (James) Saltzman of Altoona, Iowa; and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers: Floyd, Robert, Arnold and Harlan, and his three sisters: Kathleen, Marcella and Rosella.
