Services Held
Arnold White, 69, of Reasnor, a longtime resident of Jasper County and a resident of Reasnor for 47 years died of cancer Friday morning, December 29, 1995, at his home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 3, 1996, at the Wallace Pence Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Wayne Bekkering, Hospice of Marion County chaplain, conducted services.
Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials to Hospice of Pella will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Pauline R., five sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Lorraine of Grinnell, Terry and Melody of Baxter, Doug of Reasnor, Tim and Sue of Newton and Mark of Reasnor, and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Robert of Newton, Lloyd of Monroe and Harlan of Clarksville, Ark., and three sisters, Kathleen Nolte of Knoxville, Marcella Caulkins of Mesa, Arizona, and Edna (Mrs. James) Saltzman of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Floyd, and a sister, Rosella Ruggles.
Mr. White was an employee of the Maytag Co. in Newton for 40 years, retiring in 1988.
Mr. White, who was an Army veteran of World War II, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening as well as restoring automobiles, among them two old Ford Mustangs.
The son of Francis Eugene and Dora Walter White, he was born May 12, 1926, near Oskaloosa.
He was married to Pauline Roberta Brown January 28, 1948, in the Knoxville Methodist Church parsonage.
