Services Held
Funeral services for Jennie Walraven of Pella were held Monday, February 22, 1993 at the First Reformed Church in Pella. Rev. Cornie Reynen officiated the services. She had passed away at Des Moines General Hospital at the age of 82 years, six months and 24 days, February 18, 1993.
Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Daughter of Aart and Jennie Vermeer Ver Schuur, Jennie Walraven was born July 24, 1910, in Ede, Holland. Her family came to the United States in 1913 and Jennie has lived in the Monroe-Otley-Pella area all her life. On April 16, 1930, she was united in marriage with Harold Walraven. To this union four children were born. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Pella.
Jennie is survived by three daughters and their spouses: LaVelma Jean Quintanilla of Phoenix, Arizona, Donna and Gary Vriezelaar of Egan, Minnesota, Phyllis Ann and Jerry Ulrich of Lakeville, Minnesota; three sisters, Martha Vaughan of Marble Falls, Texas, Gertrude Gilmer of Des Moines, Alice Vander Velden of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Garrit Ver Schuur of Colfax, Arthur Ver Schuur of Round Rock, Texas; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1986; a son, Gerrit A., in infancy; a brother, Albert Ver Schuur; and a sister, Wilma Ver Schuur.
