Life Story of Emma Wagner
Mrs. John (Emma) Wagner, 88, longtime resident of Monroe, died Saturday at Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Monroe United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Warren McFate, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Survivors are three sons, Ernest and Earl, both of Monroe, and Erwin of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Florence) Warrick of Prairie City, Mrs. Emmert (Ethel) DeVries of Lead Hill, Ark., and Mrs. Paul (Irene) Allan of Baltimore, Md.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lena Banks of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers, three sisters, three grandchildren and a daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Amvet Auxiliary and an active worker in the United Methodist Church.
The daughter of John and Lena Myers Eggert, she was born October 28, 1884.
