Services for Mabel Josephine Victory were held September 17, 1997, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion County. Elder Bill McDonald officiated.
Mabel Josephine Victory was born May 12, 1912, near Red Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Zaccheus and Bertha Love Ruckman.
She grew up helping her parents on the farm, and eventually went to work for Fermor Crozier. She worked for Fermor until the time of his death, a total of 29 years. In later years she worked in the restaurant business. She lived in the Knoxville area most of her life, moving to West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in 1988.
On Saturday, September 13, 1997, she passed away at the age of 85 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruby Ruckman in infancy, and Florence O’Melia in 1989, and one brother, Duane Ruckman in 1996.
Those left to honor her memory include one sister: Fay DeHeer of Knoxville; daughter Pat Carr (Mrs. William) of Loveland, Colorado; son, Clayton Dean Murphy of Lincoln, Nebraska; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
