Funeral services for A. Margaret Sille were held Monday, June 11, 2007, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Interment was at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
A. Margaret Sille passed away June 7, 2007 in Newton.
Margaret grew up in the Prairie City and Reasnor, Iowa areas. She has lived in the Newton area since 1941. Margaret was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family.
Survivors are her two daughters, Kay Haines of Grinnell, Iowa and Judy (and Robert) Hitchler of Newton; five grandchildren, Ann Hitchler, Robert (and Julie) Hitchler, Jr., Brad (Rachel) Hitchler, Michael Hitchler and Ken Haines; granddaughter-in-law, Cathy (and Rick) Van Wyhe; her eight great-grandchildren, sister, Effie Robison of Newton; sister-in-law, Helen Vander Schel of Newton; stepsisters, Jenny Hoksbergen of Pella, Iowa, Corrie Terpstra of Pella, Evelena Van de Wege of Denver, Colorado; stepbrother, Richard Vonk of Newton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Gertrude (Huisman) Vander Schel; stepfather, Case Vonk, Sr.; husband, Joe in 1991; son-in-law, Glenn Haines; grandson, D. J. Haines; 2 sisters, Mary Marshall and Cornelia Stepka; 2 sisters in infancy; and brother, Jay Vander Schel.
