Mrs. Mattie Sheeler, 90, passed away Sunday, March 14, at the Shaw Nursing Home in Newton. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Clark, Mitchellville; Mrs. Ben (Myrtle) Nolin of California; Mrs. Merle Rexroat, Allerton; and Mrs. Effie Oswalt of Story City.
Services were held at the Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Eugene Mohr of Knoxville officiating. Interment was in the Monroe Cemetery.

Services Held Wed. For Mrs. Sheeler
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Sheeler, 90, a longtime resident of Monroe, were held Wednesday at Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Eugene Mohr of Knoxville conducted the services. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery.
Mrs. Ralph Gloyd was the pianist and Mrs. Marion Davis, the soloist.
Pallbearers were Ralph Clark, Harry Murrow, Norman Dunaway, Archie Rexroat, Ben Price and Rodger Lewis.
Martha Ann Dunaway, daughter of Mary and John Dunaway, was born November 16, 1873 near Monroe.
On May 25, 1902 she was united in marriage to Leroy Dot Sheeler who preceded her in death on March 9, 1940.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Clark of Mitchellville, Mrs. Ben (Myrtle) Nolin of California, Mrs. Merle (Ollie) Rexroat of Allerton and Mrs. Effie Oswalt of Story City.
Mrs. Sheeler died Sunday at a nursing home in Newton.
