Sheeler, Margaret Jane McConeghey – 1866-1957

Last Rites Held For Mrs. D. A. Sheeler
Margaret Jane McConeghey was born July 28, 1866, in Lickingville, Penn.
She came to Iowa with her parents at the age of three and located on a farm five miles east of Monroe.
She lived in this community all her life except for fifteen years spent in Wisconsin.
She was united in marriage to Daniel Austin Sheeler September 24, 1890, and to this union two sons and one daughter were born: Dr. Ivan H. Sheeler of Des Moines, Dr. Rex L. Sheeler of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Jeanette Pickins of Newton.
She is survived by her children, two grandsons and five great grandchildren.
She was a member of a family of seven all of which are deceased except one brother William A. McConeghey of Monroe.
She was a member of the Methodist church for over 60 years.
She passed away at the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, December 6, 1957, at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Ivan Buckley, Ralph McConeghey, Glenn McConeghey, Keith McConeghey, Paul McConeghey and Dale McConeghey.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kingdon and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Duncan were in charge of flowers.
Mrs. William Lewis sang “Abide With Me.” Mrs. Ralph Gloyd was at the piano.
