Life Story of George Sheeler
George W. Sheeler, 90, a longtime resident of the Tool’s Chapel community, died Sunday morning at a hospital in Sibley.
Mr. Sheeler had been hospitalized for some time with a broken hip.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Lowell McConnell, minister of the First Presbyterian church, conducted the services. Burial was in Palo Alto cemetery.
Mr. Sheeler is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Francis Riley of Sheldon; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph of Monroe and two sisters, Bessie and Algie Sheeler of Monroe.
The son of Francis and Mary Sheeler, he was born east of Monroe June 30, 1872.
He was married to Rose Bell.
