Orland, Calif. – Norman G. Shaw, 82, of Orland, Calif., formerly of Jasper County, died Saturday, April 29, at his home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Orland Evangelical Free Church in California. Burial will be at Orland I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
The F.D. Sweet and Son Funeral Home in Orland, Calif. is handling arrangements. Memorials to Prison Fellowship Ministries will be accepted.
The son of Thomas and Anna Shaw, he was born July 1, 1917, in Monroe. He graduated from Newton High School and attended Anderson Airplane School in Los Angeles, Calif. He married Lucille Kreager July 1, 1940.
Mr. Shaw was employed by Douglas Aircraft and later moved to Siskiyou, Colo. where he served as assistant manager for Purity and Safeway stores for 25 years. Mr. Shaw was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yreka and the Evangelical Free Church in Orland, Calif. He was a resident of Orland for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Katheryn Tufts of Avalon, Australia and Kimberly Wood of Austin, Texas; a son, Kevin of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
