Services Held
Marion J. Shaw, 82, a native of Monroe and a former resident of Newton, died December 5, 1992, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Highland Park Funeral Home in Des Moines.
The Rev. Hugh Stone, pastor of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Des Moines, conducted services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Survivors are two sisters, Dorothy Huggins and Odessa Pritchard, both of Des Moines, and a brother, Norman Shaw of Oreland, California.
A resident of Des Moines for the past 12 years, he had been an employee of the Lewis System.
The son of Thomas and Anna Gettis Shaw, he was born March 4, 1910 in Monroe.
He resided in Newton before moving to Des Moines.
