Services Held
Services were held Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Rev. Harold Koughn, Pastor, officiated the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Maude passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Heritage Manor in Newton of complications of a broken hip.
Born December 22, 1901, in the Percy area of Marion County, Maude was the daughter of John and Olive Workman Kain. She attended Pleasant Hill Country School and was a lifelong resident of Jasper County living in Newton from 1952 to 1971, and Monroe before and after living in Newton. Maude married Floyd Schrader April 23, 1919, in Newton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Hubert “Gus” and Violet Schrader of Monroe; two daughters, Inez Thomason of Monroe and Ruby Wallace of Monroe; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 grandchildren; 2 sons-in-law; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Memorials have been suggested for the Monroe United Methodist Church or Monroe Emergency Unit.
