Life Story of Arnold M. Schippers
Arnold M. Schippers, 71, of rural Monroe, died Sunday at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Otley Reformed Church.
The Rev. Frank Snuttjer, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Survivors are three sons, Devern and Wayne, both of Monroe, and Gary of Prairie City; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Arlene) Ferguson of Knoxville; eight grandchildren; a brother, Edward of Monroe; and a sister, Mr. Jeannette Simons of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his wife June 14, 1971.
The son of Mella and Johanna Schippers, he was born June 17, 1900, in Mahaska County.
He was married to Jessie Vander Kieft December 2, 1926.
