Passes Away
Frederick William Samson, age 78 of Monroe, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at his home. Services will be held in Ohio at a later date. Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is in charge of local arrangements.
Memorials to the Friends of Iowa Public Television or Powell III Unit at Iowa Methodist Medical Center will be accepted. Online condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of William & Mabel (Rothenbuhler) Samson, Fred was born on July 11, 1927 in Luckey, Ohio.
Survivors include his four children, Connie Wilson of Monroe, John Samson and his wife Jean of Monroe, Nancy Schippers and her husband Larry of Pella and Phyllis King and her husband Tom of Dows; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Marie Daily of Pemperville, Ohio, Wilma Rust of Oak Harbor, Ohio and Ruth Berger of Fremont, Ohio, a brother, Lowell Samson of Oak Harbor, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Fred in death were his parents, one brother at birth, a sister, Lois Fox, two sons-in-law and a granddaughter.
