Terence Albert Gilbert was born January 7, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence A. and Barbara Simmons Gilbert and passed away April 13, 1972 at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines.

He grew up on a farm near Prairie City and was educated in the Prairie City School system, graduating with the Class of 1967.

Terry was employed by Prairie City Motor Company, the Prairie City Concrete Company, and by the Firestone Store in Des Moines currently.
He is survived by his parents, three sisters: Marlus of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Denise and Jenny Sue at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Livingood, Queen City, Missouri and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simmons of Centerville, Iowa and many close relatives and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church on April 15 with Rev. Leonard Root in charge. Casket bearers were eight cousins: Charles Gilbert, Houston, Texas; Dennis L. Gilbert, Collins, Iowa; Stephen Moss, Oak Forest, Illinois; Jerome Moss, Iowa City, Iowa; Allen and Michael Gilbert of Prairie City; and Raymond and Brian Philippson of Manchester, Ia.
