Services Held
Martin Ryken, 79, of Pella, a former resident of Otley, died Tuesday, June 3, 1986, at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Faith Christian Reformed Church in Pella.
The Rev. James Stoel, pastor of the church conducted services. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Leighton.
Survivors are his wife, Antonia Ida; two daughters, Joyce (Mrs. Arie) Vink and Ardith Beaver, both of Pella; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Nellie Uitermarkt of Monroe, Johanna Brummel of Oskaloosa, and Rachel Ryken and Marie Blom, both of Pella; and three brothers, John, Frank and Dick, all of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George and Gysbert and four sisters, Jennie, Emma, Nellie and Bertha.
The son of Gerrit and Nellie DeJong Ryken, he was born Oct. 30, 1906, near Peoria and attended Peoria schools.
He was married to Antonia Ida Bos March 6, 1936 in Oskaloosa.
