Services Held
Services for Billie M. Rozenberg, 90, of Newton, were held Saturday, February 3, 2001, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.
She died of heart failure, Tuesday, January 30, 2001.
The daughter of John and Minnie Ervin Miller, she was born September 28, 1910, in Kellogg Township. She graduated from Newton High School in 1928. On September 11, 1930, she married Maurice Joy in Newton. She taught school in Monroe before she was married. Later she was a receptionist and secretary for Dr. J. P. Hull and for Wilding Plumbing and Heating.
She married Henry Rozenberg on March 20, 1971, in Newton.
Mrs. Rozenberg joined Newton Temple No. 77 Pythian Sister on January 18, 1949. She was past chief in the local lodge and past grand chief for the Grand Temple Pythians of Iowa. She served as grand secretary for five years, during which she was named Grand Secretary of the Year for the United States and Canada.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlys Joy Mullen of Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, a son, and a sister.
