Services Held
Funeral services for Doug Rowland were held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Monroe First Baptist Church. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Doug Rowland, age 38 of Otley lost his battle with leukemia on March 30, 2005 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Doug Rowland was born on October 18, 1966 in Knoxville, Iowa. Doug graduated from Knoxville High School in 1985. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. On November 9, 1990, he was united in marriage to Kellie Jones. He worked at Vermeer, owned Rowland Construction, and worked for Van Ryswyk Plumbing and Heating, retiring in September 2004 for health reasons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Doug Rowland Memorial Fund and online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
Doug is survived by his wife Kellie; two daughters, Kaila and Abigail; a son, Tanner; his mother and stepfather Shirleen and Logan Light of Des Moines; father, Gail Rowland of Knoxville; two brothers, Bill (Michelle) Rowland of Mason City and Larry (Tricia) Rowland of Monroe.
Doug is also survived by his grandmother, Myreeta Rowland of Knoxville and his mother in law, Linda Jones of Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George & Corky Evans and Lee Rowland.
